Enchantment of Taman Kelempiau and Freshwater Fish Conservation in Sekadau, West Kalimantan

One of the communities with an awareness of serenity while maintaining the authenticity of Kalimantan's nature is the Keling Kumang  Credit Union Empowerment Movement (Gerakan CU Keling Kumang) based in Sekadau and Sintang. They gathered 260,000 people, a community that is financially literate and maintains the cultural heritage and customs of the ancestors (Dayak) of Kalimantan.

One of the many forms of preserving traditional culture and natural resource wealth by the CU Keling Kumang movement is asking the state (Government) to establish customary land. The customary land owned by the indigenous people is in Tapang Semada, Sekadau Regency, West Kalimantan. 

A natural tour full of charm, rich in flora and fauna. Its name: Taman Kelempiau (Kelempiau Park).

Those of you who like nature tourism, want to know the flora and fauna of Kalimantan, visit Kelampiau Park in Sekadau. From Jakarta, you can fly to Pontianak, the capital of West Kalimantan. Then with four-wheeled vehicles, it only takes 5 hours to arrive at this natural tourist destination. If from Kuching, even faster. Only 4 hours, through the Tebedu-Entekong border crossing post (Pos Lintas Batas - PLB).

The park is an area full of various living things in its habitat. Describe beauty. Also authenticity. While "kelempiau" is a kind of monkey, which has a loud voice. Typical of animals whose habitat is in the forests of Borneo.

This park is located in Tapang Semadak, Sekadau Hilir, Sekadau, West Kalimantan. A forest area belonging to the Keling Kumang Credit Union Movement (GKCUKK).

The Kelempiau park area is in the protected forest of Keling Kumang Forest. The area is 62 hectares. The area of ​​Kelempiau Park itself is 3 hectares. Meanwhile, the Tawang Panyai protected forest stretches as far as the eye can see with an area of ​​40.5 hectares. In such a way, so that it is not only a place of conservation or a natural tourist attraction, but also a means of education, as well as a locus of entertainment.

The concept of managing and developing Klampiau Park is returning to nature. Let all the contents of the universe exist and live naturally. Grow, exist, and develop together.

"So the total area of ​​this natural conservation forest is 100 hectares," said Munaldus, Head of the Keling Kumang Resource Development Foundation (YPSDKK) which manages Kelempiau Park. "In such a way, so that everyone who comes to Taman Klampiau returns to nature."

When morning comes, the birds sing happily. The sun raises a golden yellow color from the eastern horizon. While the light is biased on the surface of the artificial lake which is originally brackish, or Tawang (peat water). However, those who are now using heavy equipment are "transformed" into an artificial river. Equipped with wooden-bodied rowboats and water bicycles, visitors can enjoy water tourism while enjoying its beautiful natural charm.

Kelempiau Park is also equipped with a homestay. Family and group accommodation designed to be comfortable with standard quality of service is usually a rental house. Visitors can rent it. Meanwhile, not far from there, there is a hall named "Ladja". A meeting hall that is very comfortable for retreats or meetings that can accommodate 200 people.

There is also a food court arena which faces an artificial river that is about 5 meters wide. While drinking coffee, sipping tea accompanied by traditional cakes; the crab going up and down the tree opposite is a special entertainment.
