Why look to the city, while the sustenance is in the village? -- Dr. Yansen TP - author of the book Revolusi dari Desa (the Revolution from the Village).

Kalimantan is not only rich in ecotourism, but also: agrotourism. One of the well-known ones is the pepper plantation agrotourism which is located in a hamlet, far into the remote interior on the border of West Kalimantan and Sarawak, Malaysia. The remote hamlet is named: Teriang.

Here is the proof. Life is in the village. Just as long as it is managed wisely and wisely.

I named this place: Hill of One Billion.

And to his astonishment. Many people joined the talkative. Then followed him, after that.

Deep into the interior and jungles of West Borneo. At one point the area where the island of Borneo had not drawn the map. Only desperate people want to go there. However, take a look! Life is like in the realm of nirvana and exists in fairy tales and legends.

How could it not?

Every time after harvesting pepper.

The population is wealthy, although the area is very very remote, deep into the interior of the Jangkang forest, Sanggau District, West Kalimantan. There is no through road that can be passed by four-wheeled vehicles. The terrain of hilly roads, swamps, uphill paths is very steep and high.

However, Teriang – the name of the remote hamlet – is like a corner of the garden of Eden which is very remote. However, God gives life to its citizens. Look! Every time they harvest pepper, they are joyful. The results are amazing. I named this resident's pepper garden land HILL OF ONE BILLION. And surprisingly, many people followed him, after that.

We can create heaven by living peacefully in friendship with nature and all its ecological creatures. At the same time, trying to sustainably maintain conservation for the children and grandchildren of this country in the future.

The name of this very, very remote hamlet: Teriang. Not just anyone can achieve it. Traditional atmosphere. Cattle of dogs, chickens, pigs, still roam here and there. Plan, I (we) will patent a type of local pepper, with a round large grain suitable for white pepper with the name: cucumber pepper. It was half a century old, I saw, its trunk as big as an adult's arm, with an old ironwood pole mossy eaten by the ground the surface became precarious.

There, I rode a motorcycle for three hours with Mang Bol, my employee. It was early 2015. Fascinated by its beauty, I immediately decided to EXPOSE THE HILL to my land, in Jangkang. Two sub-districts are bordered by Serian, Sarawak State. So, only 3 road trips abroad. Much closer appeal to than from the provincial capital of West Kalimantan, Pontianak.

And now it's really moved. My ladaku seeds are mostly from this cucumber. These include local seeds and silver and Indian semengok (subhakara).

I then remembered my friends, the regent of Malinau, Yansen Tp whom I had not seen for a long time during the terror of Mrs. Corona pack Covid. He is an intellectual who often discusses various topics. From him, I know that the village holds extraordinary potential, as long as it is good at managing.

We used to hang out on the land of his plantation area, Bang Abak, while drinking coffee, drinking tea, and looking at the pond where fish swim. He has a plantation area that is not only neatly arranged and beautiful, but also has a dead jar of belian wood as high as 12 meters and a diameter of 0.5 m — I think that is the largest and highest dead pepper jar in Indonesia.

Truly, heaven is nowhere to look. We can create heaven by living peacefully in friendship with nature and all its ecological creatures. At the same time, trying to sustainably maintain conservation for the children and grandchildren of this country in the future.

The real wealth is all around us. The problem: how to utilize existing resources. The residents of Teriang hamlet, Jangkang District, Sanggau District, West Kalimantan can in fact.

And indeed we can!
