BORNEOTRAVEL - TANJUNG SELOR: It’s rare for a prospective leader to write a book that outlines their thoughts on vision, mission, and development ideas for the region they aim to lead.

Dr. Yansen TP, M.Si., who is soon entering the political contest for the Governor of North Kalimantan, has authored a book titled Kaltara: (Kalimantan Utara) Rumah Kita)

This 439-page book is published by the Dayak Literacy Institute (LLD). It consolidates the entire breadth of "YTP's" thinking into creative and innovative ideas within a single framework to guide the development of North Kalimantan.

Yansen TP: Leader, innovator, dedicated to change

Dr. Yansen TP, M.Si. was born on January 14, 1960, in Pa’ Upan, Krayan Tengah, North Kalimantan. Known as YTP, he grew up with an unwavering spirit and dedication to fostering change through innovation.

YTP's career began as a staff member at the General Bureau of the East Kalimantan Governor’s Office before transitioning to the Secretariat of the Provincial DPRD of East Kalimantan (1986–1993). He served as a sub-district head for three terms (1993–2001), then became the Head of the Civil Registration Office in Bulungan, followed by the Head of the Regional Personnel Agency of Malinau (2001–2002), and the Secretary of Malinau (2002–2009). YTP also served as a Special Advisor to the Governor in various fields between 2009 and 2010.

YTP served as the Regent of Malinau for two terms (2011–2016, 2016–2021) and is currently the Vice Governor of North Kalimantan. He has declared his candidacy for the Governor of North Kalimantan for the 2024–2029 term, demonstrating exceptional dedication and commitment as a child of a teacher from the remote Krayan River region.

Dr. Yansen TP, M.Si. has gained diverse experiences through involvement in various youth organizations, student groups, social organizations, religious and cultural institutions, as well as political organizations. These experiences have forged his character into one that is resilient and robust. With an obsession for creating new things, he strives to build the idea of North Kalimantan as a "Home Together" through the concept of “Kaltara Rumah Kita.” This concept reflects his desire to foster a harmonious and dynamic life amidst the diversity of ethnic groups in Indonesia's youngest province.

Empowering communities for sustainable development

The primary goal of the book Kaltara Rumah Kita (Kaltara: Our Home) is to make it easier for everyone to understand Dr. Yansen TP, M.Si.'s framework of thought as a leader ready to build North Kalimantan into a self-reliant, competitive, advanced, and historically significant region.

In this context, a shared responsibility that must be prioritized is to empower the people. By engaging communities as active participants in development, both in urban and rural areas, we can create solid support for building North Kalimantan. With collaboration and active participation from all segments of society, an inclusive and sustainable development vision can be realized.

The idea to write Kaltara Rumah Kita stems from his conviction and concern for regional development, as well as his awareness of existing challenges. This book is expected to serve as a reference for stakeholders and policymakers in creating a region that truly serves the people.

“YTP” is known for seriously expressing his ideas, and each concept he presents is accompanied by strategic plans ready for implementation.

This book is not just an important document; it also serves as a standard and authentic guide for building North Kalimantan, integrating all his thoughts into a structured and accessible format.

Thus, Kaltara Rumah Kita becomes a guide for steering the framework of development in the region.
