The 4th National Conference (Musyawarah Nasional - Munas) of the Forum Dayak Kalimantan Barat Jakarta (FDKJ) was held successfully on Saturday, December 7, 2024. The event took place at Les Belles Maisons Club House in South Tangerang.

Representatives from each region attended the conference, casting their votes and receiving the accountability report from the previous board, represented by FDKJ Chairman Gregorius Leo Ondoen.

FDKJ conference kicks off with tradition, leadership election, and vision for the future

The conference kicked off with an opening dance, followed by the national anthem "Indonesia Raya" and the FDKJ anthem, before moving into a prayer.

The organizing committee gave a warm welcome, thanking all regions for their presence and contributions, as well as for bringing the specified dishes. The representatives of the FDKJ’s advisors and mentors for the 2020-2024 period also shared their thoughts on the foundation’s history and future prospects.

The conference was led by three chairpersons: Timotius Sipur, Harti Hartijah, and Yosianto Gogot, who expertly guided the meeting from the accountability report of the previous board to the election of the new chairman for the 2025-2029 period.

The election process was both elegant and democratic, conducted by vote as outlined in the rules. Two candidates, Gregorius Leo Ondoen and Paran Sakiu, were shortlisted after the selection process. Following the vote, Gregorius Leo Ondoen was re-elected as chairman with 36 votes, while Paran Sakiu received the remaining votes, with one abstention.

After the election, the newly elected chairman delivered his inaugural speech, focusing on key programs, such as establishing a permanent secretariat and promoting FDKJ through the arts and culture.

The session continued with the ceremonial handover of the FDKJ regalia from advisor Aloysius Aloy to the new chairman, accompanied by advice and hopes for FDKJ to grow stronger, more competitive, and more marketable.

FDKJ Conference Wraps Up with Unity and Vision for the Future

The conference concluded with a prayer, a group photo, and a shared lunch. The entire event ran smoothly, filled with joy and camaraderie among the attendees.

Before returning to their respective regions, the newly elected chairman was reminded of some key responsibilities, including ensuring that only capable and committed individuals are appointed to the board. It's also crucial to build relationships with other organizations and the government.

The next challenge for the newly elected chairman is to form the "cabinet" and set up a committee for the upcoming inauguration of the 2025-2029 board. With the new board in place, the hope is for a solid collaboration that will bring FDKJ’s goals and vision to life.
